Pink!

Hello!

Today I have a pink number to share with you all. I thought it would break the manly theme thats been on the blog the last few days!

For this card I used the solid butterfly brush from Joyful Butterfly and printed it onto pink CS. I then added some Hero Arts Prisma glitter to it to make it sparkle. I then stamped one of the Lattice designs from Background Builders Lattice and coloured it with a Copic trio of pinks. The 'Happy' and the 'Birthday' is from FONTiments - Birthday. The flourishes are from FONTiment Fancies - Swirls & Flourishes

A lovely girly CAS card! Thats all from me today, thanks for stopping by!

CAS-ual Dad ...

Happy Wednesday!

I'm back today with another Man-tastic card to share! This time I used the current challenge over on CAS-ual Fridays. The challenge over there is CAS masculine cards using designer paper. A perfect challenge to whip up those needed Dad's day cards!

Here is my card ...

This card is VERY similar to the one I shared on Monday HERE. On Monday's card I used the punched out letters of 'dad', today I have used the negative. Again, I have used the NEW digital downloadable Classics patterned paper from Uniko Studio, available HERE

They work perfectly for masculine cards along with Patriotic cards! With the up coming celebrations of The Queens Diamond Jubilee they are half price on the website too! Hurry though as it's only for a limited TIME!

Well, I'm off to work in a shop called Folio. You can read a little bit about this HERE on my friend Lauren's blog! I will do a post about it in the coming weeks!

Anyway, must dash! Thanks for stopping by!

Clean & Simple

Hello!

The sun hasn't got his hat on today & is hidden behind clouds which is a shame as I was enjoying being out in it! Hopefully it won't be gone for long!

Anyway, I have a card to share with you all ...

For this card I used FTL192 from Clean & Simple. I used Joyful Butterfly digital patterned papers & one of the flower brushes from the collection. The colours are Baja Breeze & Tangerine Tango from Stampin' Up! The sentiment is from FONTiments - Birthday.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Man-tastic!

Hey!

Happy Monday! Hope everyones week has got off to a good start? The sunshine has certainly got mine off to a good start as well as a goal I achieved today - I've officially lost 2 stone and got my award today at Slimming World :) happy smiles all around, still got a bit to go to reach my overall target but I'm chuffed to bits!

Anyway, on to todays card ...

Fathers Day is fast approaching here in the UK, so I thought I'd better make a few! The inspiration for this card was from this weeks Play Date Cafe challenge photo & colours ...

The colours for this challenge were perfect for using the NEW Classics Digital Download papers from Uniko Studio available from the website HERE. There is a SALE on too over on the website for digital downloads & some of the clear stamp sets!

Thanks for stopping by today!

One for the guys ...

Hey!

It's been a while since I made & shared a card made for a guy, so when I saw this weeks Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger I knew I had to make a 'guy' card!

This is the Trigger Photo ...

I was totally inspired by the colours ...

I started off by stamping the Lattice background un Memento Rich Cocoa & then chose some Copic colours to match the inspiration photo & randomly coloured the Lattice. The clock face and sentiment are from Extra Time

I hope your all having a FAB weekend, thanks for stopping by!

A Parade of Doilies

Hello!

How is everyone? Are you all ready for the weekend? I sure am & I hope it's a warm & sunny one here too!

Anyway, you didn't come here for a weather report so I'll get to the point & show you my creation ...

This card is totally inspired by one I recently pinned on Pinterest ...

As soon as I had pinned it I knew the Decorative Doilies stamp set would be a perfect match! I also used the current colours over on ColourQ for this card HERE and shown below. I used the More Mustard, Pool Party & Crumb Cake colours very sparingly compared to the Poppy Parade!

That's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow though with another project to share. Thanks for stopping by!

SPLAT!

Hey!

Just a super quick post today as it's still sunny here in the UK! I have an over splattered card to share with you today ...

I need a bit more practice with my Mr Huey's as I always seem to get a bit too much splatter! Oh well! I used English Country Garden digital stamps for this card & FONTiments - Birthday. I used my Copics to colour the butterfly and added some stickler for the sparkle!

I hope everyone is having a good week, it's nearly the weekend :) Thanks for stopping by today!

Feeling Casual ...

Hello!

Happy half way through the working week! I have a card to share with you today using a technique I've been wanting to have a go at for ages as I keep seeing it pop up here and there in blogland. It just so happens the technique fits into the current challenge over on CAS-ual Fridays HERE.

The challenge is to use punches or dies on your CAS card. Here is what I came up with ...

I don't know what the name of this technique is (so if you know be sure to tell me in the comments section below), but I like the look of it and it's also a good way to use up some scraps of patterned paper! It's good for flat cards too which makes mailing them out cheaper!

For this card I used some PTI Rustic White CS for the base and main panel. I then used my PTI flower dies to die cut the flowers in the lower left corner. I then used the same dies to die cut some Joyful Butterfly digital download patterned paper. I stamped the sentiment from FONTiments - Birthday using Basic Grey ink. I then matted the panel to a Basic Grey panel before adhering to the card base.

I then glued and fitted the die cut flowers into the die cut spaces on the panel added some sparkly dew drops and ta dah! I'm looking forward to playing around with this technique a bit more! I've only the one card to show you today as it was sunny here in the UK yesterday and so I made the most of it outside enjoying it, we never know here how long it's going to last!

I'll be back tomorrow though with another project to share with you. Thanks for stopping by!

Not a marker in sight!

Happy Tuesday & Happy Post Release Day!

Thank you for everyone that gave Gayatri a warm welcome to the DT both her and on her blog and for everyone who visited and commented on my post about the release. Your thoughts and feedback is truly appreciated.

So how about a card? As the title of this post states not a marker be it Copic or Distress or any other kind was in sight as I coloured this Chrysanthemum in ...

As you can see from this first photograph I dusted off my Prismacolor pencils which haven't seen the light of day since Copic markers took residence in the studio! There is something kind of nostalgic about the smell of a pencil! It was really relaxing and therapeutic colouring in, I haven't spent more than 30 min on a card in a while! As I coloured each petal on the flower I used Gamsol blending solution to smooth the coloured lines out.

So here is the final creation ...

Still a CAS card using the current sketch over on Clean & Simple HERE. I used one of the patterned papers from the NEWLY released Joyful Butterfly and the sentiment is from Extra Time.

I hope I have inspired you to dust off your coloured pencils and show them some love!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Uniko Studio Announcement & May Reveal!

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a good weekend & I am SO happy you have stopped by the blog today. Today I can make a little BIG announcement which has been quite hard to keep for the past week or so!

So without further ado I would like to introduce you all to the NEWEST Uniko Studio Design Team member ...

I'm am really HAPPY & honoured that Gayatri from Australia has joined the Uniko Studio DT. I just know your going to love seeing what Gayatri does using Uniko Studio products as I sure do! Be sure to stop by Gayatri's blog HERE and giver her a warm welcome!

Now I have made the announcement, how about some Uniko Studio Digital Releases Reveals?! Warning! Long post you may wish to take this opportunity to grab a drink, sit & relax!

First up is ...

Joyful Butterfly Collection £5.00
Copyright Uniko Studio 2012
www.unikostudio.co.uk

Joyful Butterfly is a digital collection which contains both patterned papers & digital stamps. The collection features 10 patterned papers which co-ordinate with Stampin' Up! colours Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze, Bashful Blue, Basic Grey & Very Vanilla. The papers come in JPG format in the download.

Joyful Butterfly is the first Uniko Studio digital download to contain digital stamps! There are 6 stamps contained in the download which are all images featured in the patterned papers, so they co-ordinate perfectly. The digital stamps contained in the download come as a brush (abr) file and also a transparent PNG file.

I have a little video later in the post which shows you how to load brushes in Photoshop (appropriate for Photoshop Elements users too)!

Next up is ...

English Country Garden  £4.75
Copyright Uniko Studio 2012
www.unikostudio.co.uk

English Country Garden is a digital stamp collection. The collection contains 2 sentiment stamps and 4 image stamps which come in both the formats mentioned above for the Joyful Butterfly Collection.

The final digital release this month is ...

Classics  £2.00
Copyright Uniko Studio 2012
www.unikostudio.co.uk

Classics is a digital paper collection which features classic patterns such as gingham, plaid and argyle. The collection contains the 6 paper patterns shown in the product swatch above in a classic colour combination red, white and blue! Quite appropriate here in the UK as we prepare for the up coming Diamond Jubilee Celebrations and the Olympics! Again the colours used in the collection co-ordinate with Stampin' Up! colours Pacific Point & Real Red.

Now I've done the introductions how about a couple of projects using some of the digital releases?!

For this first card I have used the butterfly and one of the sentiments contained in the English Country Garden collection. I started out by opening a new Ps (Photoshop) document and sized it to 14 cm wide by 10 cm high. I then loaded my Butterfly brush chose a size of 500 pixels and stamped the brush in the centre. I then reduced the size of my Butterfly brush to 450 pixels and stamped it either side of the middle butterfly. I then chose my sentiment brush and stamped it in the lower right of the document.

When I printed my document I also stamped another of the centre Butterflies to colour and cut out. The photo below shows a close up of this ...

For my second card I used English Country Garden again, but this time I used the Chrysanthemum image.

For this card I opened a new Ps document 10 cm x 13.5 cm. I started off by choosing the sentiment stamp and sized it to fit centred on the lower section of the white panel. I then chose the Chrysanthemum brush from the English Country Garden collection and stamped it twice along the right edge so that it over hung the panel.

After selecting my first colour (Tangerine Tango) I then used my paint bucket tool in Ps to fill the petals of the top flower. I then changed my colour to Daffodil Delight and filled the lower flowers petals. I then printed the section and trimmed to size to adhere to a Baja Breeze CS base. I then printed another Chrysanthemum flower onto one of the patterned papers from Joyful Butterfly and cut the flower out and adhered it to the card using foam adhesive.

For my last card to share with you today I used the Classics digital patterned paper collection ...

I chose to use the argyle pattern and cut a piece 10 x 14 cm and adhered it to a white CS base. I then cut a 10.5 x 14 cm piece of white CS and cut it at 2 cm width and 5.5 cm width and adhered the panels over the patterned paper using foam adhesive as shown above. Before I adhered the larger section I stamped the 'Celebrate' sentiment from FONTiments - Birthday and 'Time to' from Time. I also stamped the pocket watch image onto another patterned paper from the Classics collection and cut this out before adhering to the panel.

Before I go today I have one last thing to share with you all, it is my very first video showing you how to load & install brushes in Photoshop. I apologise for it in advance as I have never done a video before! I hope it helps & I did enjoy doing it so I might do some more in the near future!

I hope you have enjoyed the reveal post today?! Don't forget to stop by the Design Team blogs Aimes, Gayatri & Kerry to see what they have been up to using the NEW digital releases. All the products you have seen are now available for purchase from the website HERE.

I will be back tomorrow with a few more projects to share, until then thanks for stopping by!

May Sneak Peek 1

Hey!

I'm SO happy you have stopped by the blog today, I have a little Sneak Peek to share with you of a NEW digital download collection which will be available on the website Monday morning at 9am GMT. So, without further ado here it is ...

What do you think? Are you looking forward to seeing more of this collection on Monday?! Not long to wait! Until then I do have a card to share with you all today...

I thought FONTiment Fancies - Swirls & Flourishes needed a little inky love! I started off by marking out the centre of the card panel with a light pencil line. I then stamped the top flourish, sentiment and then rotated the flourish stamp and stamped it again to frame the sentiment from FONTiments - Birthday

I then used Memento London Fog ink to stamp the Lattice. I used a Copic marker BG07 to colour the middle section of the Lattice. A few rhinestones finished the card off. A simple card which can be switched up for different occasions. I think this could be a stylish yet elegant Wedding card.

Thats all I have to share with you all today, be sure to pop by tomorrow for the next Sneak Peek! Thanks for stopping by!

Wooohooo!

Wooohooo! The weekend has begun!

It's an exciting one here too at Uniko Studio! The sneak peeks for the digital releases on Monday 21st May start HERE on the blog tomorrow morning at 9am. I am really quite excited about these digital download releases this month! It's a nice build up to another exciting announcement on the blog also on Monday which I can't wait to share, but I will!

So, until tomorrow I have a card to share ...

For this card I have combined Background Builders Lattice, Decorative Doilies - The Hands of Time and Extra Time for the sentiment. I used Memento London Fog to stamp the Lattice background. I then over stamped 2 different doilies in Memento Black. I added a splash of Summer Sunrise with the satin ribbon and pearls.

I enjoyed making this card and think it would be quite fun to switch the black doilies for Summer Sunrise ones and the ribbon and pearls to black for a different look, I might just try that one. I do NEED a few post birthday Thank You cards!

Thats all I have to share with you today, but be sure to poppy tomorrow to see a Sneaky Peek at whats being released over on the website on Monday!

Thanks for stopping by!

Thirty Three ...

Happy Monday and Happy 33 to me!

Yep, I'm another year older! I have to say that my 32nd year was a pretty good year. I finished my BA(Hons) Textiles & Surface Design degree with a FIRST! and I started Uniko Studio which has been a dream for me since I can remember and it's finally come to light & I'm loving every minute of it!

I have to say though I have a feeling my 33rd year is going to be even better!

I'd seen a while back over on Kelly Purkey's blog a birthday list of things she'd like to accomplish in that year. The number on that list matched her birthday number and thought it would be a pretty fun thing to do. So, I've started a 33 list!

Here are the top 3 on my 33 list ...

1. Get Married!
2. Have a card published in a magazine!
3. Become certified in Adobe Illustrator!

Now, I know you didn't come here to read my list of accomplishments, you cam here to see a card creation! So here it is ...

For this card I used the Decorative Doilies - The Hands of Time digital download paper again. This time I used the graphic floral circle paper in the SU! Marina Mist colour. For the scalloped edge I resized the digital paper in Photoshop to 10.5 cm X 14 cm before printing it out. This was so you can see more of the detail on the strip of paper. This is a beauty of digital papers you can alter the scale downwards as it does not affect the quality of the design.

I then used my PTI large scallop die to die cut the strip. I used a strip of SU! Pool Party CS as this is another of the colours featured in the paper. The graphic flower is cut from the original sized paper printed and the inner flower from the smaller scale paper. The sentiment is from FONTiments - Birthday and is what I'll be doing today!

That's all I have to share with you today! I'll be back tomorrow though with another card to share! Thanks for stopping by!

Glittery Polka Dots

Hey!

Hope your all having a lovely weekend?! I sure am! Yesterday was a lovely sunny day here in the North East of the UK so to make the most of it I went for a bike ride with my hunny and MIL to be around the Tees Barrage. It's a lovely riverside ride and has a nice cafe for lunch too which is a bonus and reward for cycling!

I then spent some time in The Studio inking up Uniko Studio stamps and making a few cards I've been wanting to make! The card today is one of them ...

This card features one of the coloured polka dot patterned papers from the Decorative Doilies - The Hands of Time digital download papers. They are available HERE from the website. I knew when I designed them back at University that the dots had to be glittered like this!! It is time consuming but not hard. I just used my quickie glue pen and Hero Arts prisma glitter - I LOVE that stuff!

I kept the other embellishments simple just a layered punched butterfly with a button and some rhinestones on top of a looped ribbon. The sentiment is from FONTiments - Birthday. I've taken a close up photo below of the layered butterfly and glittery polka dots ...

That's all I have to share with you today! I'm off to enjoy my last day of being 32 by watching the F1 and spending time with family. I hope you all have a lovely day whatever you are up to! I'll be back tomorrow with a scheduled post, so be sure to stop by!

Thanks for stopping by!
