The Saturday Show!

Hey!

It's been a while since I did a Saturday Show feature and seeing as I have had little time to be creative myself and wasn't as organised as I'd have hoped to be prior to the beans arriving, I thought I'd share a few customer creations I have spotted around blogland whilst breastfeeding! It's handy having an iPhone to browse the internet at all hours of the day/night to help keep myself awake :)

Anyway, enough chat how about some projects...

This first card is by Sue from A Consuming Passion, isn't the 'wing' treatment of the hummingbird just genius? It's so creative, adds depth to the card and a real life feel to the bird - FAB! Be sure to stop on by Sue's blog HERE for more wonderful inspiration.

Next up are a couple of cards by Sarah from Sazzle Dazzle Crafts...

This first card features the newest Flower Power stamp, which happens to be my current FAVE! I love the cluster of blooms and the colours are so fresh and vibrant :)

This next card was a wonderful surprise to come across, not only because it is truly stunning, but also because it was created with love and as part of a surprise challenge over at the TIME OUT Challenges blog in honour of the birth of Josh & Ben :)

Isn't this card just stunning? The colours and layout are just FABulous and so striking. Be sure to stop on by Sarah's blog HERE for more wonderful inspiration and why not join in on the challenge over at TIME OUT Challenges HERE for your chance to win a £20 Gift Certificate to spend in store at Uniko Studio!

Next up are a few cards by my fellow TIME OUT Challenges DT member Sandie over at London Days...

Another STUNNING creation using the Paradise - Hummingbird stamp set. Isn't the layered stamp masking just FABulous? I love the monochrome colour scheme Sandie has used too as it really lets the birds take the focus.

Continuing the bird theme, Sandie has created a couple of cards using this months revisited stamp set Peace On Earth...

This über CAS glittery card really is stunning, the pop of red with the heart really draws focus to the dove. This next card is so soft & beautiful, it uses a modern Christmas colour scheme which works perfectly.

Be sure to stop on by Sandie's blog HERE for more wonderful inspiration.

Lastly but no means least I have a couple of cards by Jane over at Purplejet Loves Crafts...

This first card is another wonderfully thoughtful card and uses a selection of Uniko Studio stamp sets in a genius way. Firstly Jane has used Background Builders: Christmas on the stockings and the tiny bears and 'Double the Joy' sentiment from Sweet Baby.

I feel honoured to have inspired Jane for this next card, which uses the baby wipe stamping technique...

The All Occasion Sentiments #3 works perfectly with not only the technique but the starburst stamp Jane has used. Be sure to stop on by Jane's blog HERE for more wonderful inspiration.

Ok, that's all I have to share with you today, I am sure there are many more wonderful creations out there using Uniko Studio products and I would LOVE you to share them with me & point me in the direction of your blog or online gallery. You can even email me photos to beverley@unikostudio.com

Until the next time, thank you for stopping by today :)

[Uniko Studio Challenge] No. 14 - Clean & Simple

Hello Uniko Fans - we are back with a new challenge.

We ALL loved seeing your entries we had for our last challenge & we look forward to seeing your entries for this one :) To help get your mojo flowing & increase the number of entries I have 'bumped' up the prizes.

The Prizes:
  • A £20 Gift Certificate to the Winner & Guest Design Team spot on the blog for the next challenge
  • Top Three Spotlight & £5 Gift Certificate

Guest Designers are still welcome to join in on the current challenge too :)

For the Challenge this month we are back to a 'theme' and colour pallet:

'Clean & Simple'

Plus

This months colour inspiration contains a trio of my FAVE colours! Hopefully there is something in this color palette that will get your crafting mojo going. Feel free to use any or all of the colours.

Complimenting the colours this month, the theme is "Clean & Simple', which is a design of card which has clean lines, minimal elements and embellishments and areas of 'white' space. White space is an area of the card with no element or embellishment and doesn't necessarily have to be white!

This is what I've come up with for the challenge...

I found a little time to sneak into the studio and play along with the new Freshly Made Sketches layout seen HERE and below as the starting point for my card. It was lovely to grab a broken half hour to make a card, I had the bat call half way through as the beans had woken for a feed, they must have known I had snuck off into the studio!

Let's see how the Design Team faired with this challenge...

You have until October 14th 09:00 UK time, to link your card up below.

The Challenge Rules:

September Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

* This is my second post of the day, click HERE for my TIME OUT Challenge Card *

Hey!

I'm SO happy you've stopped by the blog today as today is the September 2014 Design Team Blog Hop.  As we've quite a few new followers here, ("Hello & Thank you") I will explain what's going on!

Here at Uniko Studio I currently only release new products every other month. This is for a number of reasons, firstly, being an avid paper crafter myself and knowing the current economic climate I know 'some' are on a limited budget when it comes to buying new stash, so this way you're not tempted to splurge too much every month. The second reason is that it is just me here at Uniko Studio HQ. I currently run this little business single handedly, designing, blogging, demoing, classes, packing etc, etc. so releasing every other month gives me chance to keep my head above water, well, just about!

So, on the in-between release months the Design Team & I take a look back at a previously released product, dust it off and give it some love! This month I decided to dust off the previously released Peace On Earth clear stamp set which was released HERE.

Here are a couple of old FAVES using the set....

How about a new card using this set...

There are a couple of things that I really love about this set. Firstly I love the 'traditional modern' Christmas feel it has and secondly I love being able to add glitter to the dove to make it sparkle!

Above you can see the sparkle on the dove :) I kept the colour scheme neutral letting the sentiment and image take the focus. The snowflake background is from Background Builders: Christmas.

To inspire you more there is a whole bunch of cards HERE on the Uniko Studio Peace On Earth Pinterest board.

And how about some inspiration from the FABulous Design Team:

How about a GIVEAWAY...?

Simply comment along the hop for the chance to win the featured set or a Gift Certificate to the same value if you already own them. You have until Midnight Thursday 25th September to comment and I will announce the winner here on the blog Friday 26th September .

Happy Hopping!

TIME OUT Challenges - Home Sweet Home

* This is my first post of the day, please pop back at 9am for the Uniko Studio DT Revisited Blog Hop *

Hey!

Welcome back to another TIME OUT Challenges. This fortnight is Home Sweet Home with a interiors photo to spark your inspiration...

Original Source: The Swenglish Home

This is how I was inspired by the photo...

Firstly I was inspired by the wooden word tags, which reminded me of the words from the recently released Strike a Pose! stamp set. Secondly I was inspired by the colours in the photo, which determined the colour scheme of my card.

I started out by heat embossing the polaroid frame in white onto Chocolate Chip CS and fussy cut it out. I adhered it to the card mat layer flat and mounted the camera and words to the card using foam adhesive.

This fortnight we have a lovely guest designer joining us over at TIME OUT Challenges, Christine from Poppaea Cards. Be sure to stop by Sarah's BLOG to see how she was inspired by the photo and of course the FABulous TIME OUT Challenges Design Team...

For all the info and to link up your challenge be sure to stop by the TIME OUT Challenges blog. I look forward to seeing your creations :) I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Introducing 2 New Additions!

Hey!

So you all probably know that I have been some what busy over the past week & this time not in the studio, but giving birth to and taking care of 2 new precious additions to the Brown & Uniko Studio family.

I would formerly like to introduce you to Josh & Ben...

Things didn't exactly go to plan with the birth, but when it comes to mother nature these things can be unpredictable! So after a day and a half of being in labour following an induction I made the decision to proceed to a C Section.

Josh on the left was born at 5:54 pm and Ben on the right at 5:55 pm on September 2nd. Weighing in at 4 pounds 12 ounces and 5 pounds 13 ounces. Quite a bit smaller than predicted on the scans. As Josh was under the 5 pound birth weight we had to have a few days stay in the hospital.

In the picture above they have swapped places! It is easy to tell them apart at the moment due to the difference in size, but that will soon change as they LOVE their milk :)

All set on the 6th September for the journey home...

All fed & snuggled up for their first night at home...

Lets just say the night shifts have been a testing time for mum & dad, but they are way too cute not to love even on no sleep!

Day 2 at home, testing out the new wheels bought by Grandma & Grandad! And one last cute pic from this morning after another sleepless night...

That's all I have to share with you all today! There are still posts scheduled to entertain you until I get back into the studio to create, but for now spare time is currently spent catching up on sleep and recuperating from the C Section.

Until the next time thank you for stopping by & for all your kind wishes and congratulations :)

Bev's Bouncing Baby Boys Blog Hop

Hello Uniko Fans - some of us Design Team girls are hijacking Bev's Blog today to celebrate a very momentous occasion in Bev's (and her husband's) life.

In case you haven't heard the splendid news, Bev and her hubby are brand, spanking new parents to two twin boys. Isn't it just exciting? We will let Bev decide when and where she wants to share pictures, but we couldn't let this moment go without a special blog hop.

Bev is truly one of the sweetest girls we know, and we know that her thoughtfulness, kindness and patience will be a big part of being a fabulous mum. We can't wait to see you embrace motherhood. In the meantime, we wish you all the best - get some sleep and enjoy every moment with those two perfect princes.

So here without further ado, a few special wishes in honor of Josh and Ben...

We also would like to give the Uniko Studio friends an opportunity to join in on this special day, so we're putting up a link-up for all of you to join. So come and help us celebrate Bev's new role as mum.

[Uniko Studio Challenge] #13 Revisited - Guest Designer

* Second post of the day, please click HERE or scroll down for the TIME OUT Challenges reminder post *

Hello everyone!

Today we have our winner of Challenge #12 and Guest Designer Elaine from Craft - E - Place with us to share a reminder project for Challenge #13. Now, you will want to keep reading as Elaine has wonderful piece inspiration for you.

Elaine here, today there are no Gerbera's in sight! I've gone down the male card route, something I find to be a real challenge.

I started by heat embossing the large cogs from Today, Tomorrow & Always Time stamp set in black. I then used a cog mask from Tando Creative to add colour using salty ocean, tumbled glass and peacock feathers distress inks.

I hope I've inspired you to join in on this months challenge.

The Challenge this month is another easy one:

'Special Occasions'

The special occasion could be anything from a Birthday, to a Baby Congratulations or to a Wedding Card to name but a few examples, the options are endless and everyone interprets challenge words differently, but that's part of the fun and creativity!

You have until September 14th 09:00 UK time, to link your card up below.

The Challenge Rules:
  • Winners will be announced by September 17th
  • Please add the Uniko Studio Challenge badge & link back to the challenge
  • If you don't have a blog to link back to the challenge, don't worry. Just use "USC"+<challenge number> as your tag. For example, for the second challenge "USC2" and upload it to a gallery. Or send Beverley an email (beverley@unikostudio.com) and she will add your entry for you.

We can't wait to see your creations. Come play along!

Still TIME to play @ TIME OUT Challenges - Inspired By Words

* First post of the day, please come back again at 9am for our Guest Designer & USC #13 reminder post *

Hey!

I'm back today with a reminder card for the 13th TIME OUT Challenge and this time it's a inspired by words challenge, the phrase for this fortnights challenge is...

If music be the food of love, play on

What do these words inspire you to create? I was inspired by the word love this time, which resulted in this card...

I used Uniko Studio Always and Forever stamp set & simply stamped the 'love you' heart in red ink & fussy cut around it. I adhered it to the white CS layer using foam adhesive then stamped the sentiment 'with all my heart' in black ink.

For all the info and to link up your challenge be sure to stop by the TIME OUT Challenges blog. I look forward to seeing your creations :) I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today.
